Happy #FutureFriday everyone!

On this #FutureFriday we are proud to celebrate Ayanda Maseko, a Management Assistant graduate from Ekurhuleni East TVET College. With the aid of a NSFAS bursary, she was able to fulfill her dreams and she is now a proud employee of Ekurhuleni East TVET College where she serves as a secretary to the Campus Manager at Daveyton.

"If you set your mind to something, anything is possible. When growing up we believed TVET Colleges were not for us. I beg to differ as I see a TVET College as a great stepping stone to success,” explained Maseko.

In her own words:

“My name is Ayanda Maseko and my TVET College journey began in 2013 when I registered to pursue a career in the Management Assistant field.

In January 2015, I was offered a three month contract at Ekurhuleni East TVET College as a Registration Assistant. In April 2015, I signed a contract for 18 month for Work Integrated Learning at Genrec Engineering (a division of Murray Roberts). In April 2018, the College Human Resource Department called and offered me a six-month position as Registration Assistant at Benoni Campus.

In August 2018, I graduated with a National Diploma in Management Assistant. In September 2018, I interviewed for the post of Secretary”.

Maseko went through the entire recruitment process before being offered the secretary position at Ekurhuleni East TVET College. She assumed duty in January 2019.

Her advice to aspiring students, “Success is possible through hard work and dedication”
